Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club announced today the re-signings of catcher Mitsuki Fukuda, utility player Kai Moody, and left-handed pitcher Kenny Williams for the upcoming 2023 Frontier League season.

Fukuda, 23, returns to Ottawa following his rookie season in 2022. Appearing in 35 games behind the dish, Fukuda hit .194 with 10 RBI. The Japanese backstop recorded his first professional hit and RBI on May 18 in Windy City. Defensively, Fukuda was solid behind the plate, throwing out nearly 50% of base stealers.

A native of Fukuoka, Japan, Fukuda previously spent four seasons at Kyushu Sangyo University.

Moody, 23, remains in the nation’s capital after a strong finish to last year’s campaign. Joining the team mid-season, Moody appeared in 29 games, hitting .291 with 12 runs driven in. A consistent bat in the lineup, the right-handed hitter and thrower played defensively in left field, centre field, and at first base.

Hailing from San Francisco, California, Moody spent three seasons at Cal State University, Northridge (Los Angeles, California), hitting .310 with seven homers and 60 RBI in 104 career games from 2020-2022. While at CSUN, Moody became the first player with two All-Big West First Team selections in program history.

Williams, 27, re-ups with the Titans after an award-winning 2022 season. He joined the Titans as a draft pick in the 2022 Frontier League Draft and appeared in 11 games a season ago.

The left-hander’s impact was also felt away from the baseball field by fans across the National Capital Region, earning him the Fran Riordan Award, given annually to a player who exhibits outstanding citizenship in the community.

The Renton, Washington, product attended the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith (Fort Smith, Arkansas) from 2017-2018. North of the border, Williams has also suited up for the Weyburn Braves of the Western Canadian Baseball League.

The Ottawa Titans open the 2023 season at home on Friday, May 12th against the Empire State Greys. For information on season tickets, group outings, and nine-game mini packs, visit the Titans’ official website at www.ottawatitans.com.
