Ottawa, ON - Locked in a pitcher's duel, the Ottawa Titans (8-10) got a massive seventh-inning grand slam from Jackie Urbaez to down the Windy City ThunderBolts (8-12) by a 4-3 final on Friday.

Offence was extremely tough to come by in the opening five innings of play - with Tyler Jandron (win, 1-1) and Will Armbruester (loss, 0-1) each locked in, dealing five shutout frames respectively.

Though the opening five innings of play - the Titans could only scratch across two base runners against the rookie starter - while the ThunderBolts had just one hit and two runners cut down off the basepaths courtesy of pickoffs from Jandron.

It took until the sixth for the ThunderBolts to capitalize - scoring two runs on three hits to take a 2-0 lead. With the bases loaded, a fielder's choice brought one home before an RBI single from Christian Kuzemka doubled the advantage.

The Titans seemed down and out - but with two hits aboard in the seventh, a pinch-hit two-out walk from Jake Guenther loaded the bases. Riding a three-game hit streak, Jackie Urbaez tagged an Armbruester offering over the right field fence for a grand slam to put the home side in front 4-2.

In the eighth, a one-out single from Cam Phelts came across to score on an RBI ground ball from Joe Johnson - cutting the Titans' lead to 4-3.

Jandron went seven and a third quality innings - allowing three runs, two earned on five hits, walking two, and striking out three for his first victory of the season.

After Matt Dallas allowed an inherited runner to score in his two-thirds of an inning in the eighth in relief of Jandron - Erasmo Piñales (save, 5) struck out a pair apart of a clean ninth to seal the deal.

In the win, AJ Wright extended his hit streak to 13 games with a single while Jackie Urbaez recorded his first homer of the season, extending his on-base streak to 14 contests in a row.

The Ottawa Titans continue their six-game homestand with the second of a three-game set against the Windy City ThunderBolts on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. from Ottawa Stadium. All the action can be heard on CKDJ 107.9 and 94,5 Unique FM and live-streamed on Flo Baseball.
