OFFICIAL FRONTIER LEAGUE BOX SCORE

Schaumburg, IL - Despite taking an early 2-0 lead, the Ottawa Titans (31-32) allowed five runs in the bottom of the first inning, falling 10-6 to the Schaumburg Boomers (37-24) on Thursday.

Jason Dicochea got the offence rolling and on top with a two-run blast off Hunter Hoopes (win, 1-0) in the first inning. Dicochea was able to set a new career-high with his 11th homer of the season.

The Boomers' offence for the second straight day managed to ride one big inning to victory. Against Grant Larson (loss, 5-7), the home side sent 11 to the plate and scored five runs on seven hits. Gaige Howard, Blake Berry, Kyle Fitzgerald, and Kokko Figueiredo all chipped in to post the five spot.

Down 5-2, the Titans pulled Larson after just an inning. The lefty departed after allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out one in his shortest start of the season.

A sacrifice fly from Jason Dicochea and an RBI single from Jamey Smart in the top of the third made the series finale as close as 5-4.

Chris Burica worked in bulk for the Titans out of the bullpen for the second time in as many days, allowing four runs on ten hits across five innings.

In the seventh, Jason Dicochea and Jamey Smart once again chipped in with RBI knocks against Antonio Frias.

The Boomers managed to tally another run in the eighth against Erasmo Pinales to stretch the lead further.

In the loss, Jason Dicochea went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI, while Jamey Smart recorded a 2-for-5 day with a pair driven in. The Titans also see themselves drop below .500 once again and are swept for the second time this season.
