Ottawa, ON –  The Ottawa Titans are proud to announce that left-handed pitcher  Kenny Williams  has been named the 2022 Frontier League’s Fran Riordan Award, given annually to a player who exhibits outstanding citizenship in the community.

The native of Renton, Washington joined the Titans as a draft pick from this spring’s Frontier League Draft. Tossing 11 times for the Titans this season, his impact was also felt away from the baseball field by fans across the National Capital Region.

“The plan when I got here was to help the team in any way possible,” explained Williams. “Having a team where every guy is a fresh face has had a completely different dynamic, which has guided us to the terrific year. I want to that my teammates, the organization, and the league for this prestigious award.”

Along with being an elite athlete, Williams has taken on many responsibilities this season for the club. He has led numerous of our community efforts, such as directing a pair of kids camps and actively aiding the Miracle league with frequent visits. Williams has also assumed the role of partial coach, translator for rookie catcher Mitsuki Fukuda, and a helping hand in the clubhouse.

“Kenny Williams immediately established himself as the backbone of the expansion Ottawa Titans,” explained General Manager Martin Boyce. “Kenny volunteered for numerous community events and coordinated two camps for over 200 kids at Ottawa Stadium. There is no one that can match Kenny’s desire to be around the game of baseball and do whatever it takes to empower those around him to love the game as much as he does.”
