Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher Damon Casetta-Stubbs for the upcoming 2023 Frontier League season.

Casetta-Stubbs, 23, joins the Titans bullpen after spending the 2022 season in the Cleveland Guardians organization. With the Guardians’ A-ball and Advanced-A affiliates, the Lynchburg Hillcats, and Lake County Captains, Casetta-Stubbs made 19 appearances out of the bullpen, totaling 37.1 innings on the mound. The right-hander went a combined 2-2 with a 7.71 ERA – striking out 27.

Drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 11th round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of King’s Way Christian Schools (Vancouver, Washington), Casetta-Stubbs was a career 12-15 with a 6.14 ERA in 61 appearances (39 starts, 22 in relief) throughout his minor league career. Casetta-Stubbs also owns a lifetime 8.9 SO/9 in 202.1 innings of work.

The 6-foot-4 right-hander was named a 2019 Northwest League all-star while a member of the Everett AquaSox, the Mariners’ short-season-A affiliate, where he tossed to a career-best 4.11 ERA over 15 starts and 70 innings.

The Portland, Oregon product was traded by the Mariners to the Guardians during the 2021 season for major leaguer Jake Bauers.

In other news, the Titans have traded RHP Nate Boyle to the Missoula PaddleHeads of the Pioneer League to complete a previous transaction.

Further, the team has moved RHP Kaleb Schmidt to the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association in exchange for future considerations.

Finally, the club has traded INF Brendon Dadson to the Lake Erie Crushers in exchange for a player to be named later.

The Ottawa Titans open the 2023 season at home on Friday, May 12th against the Empire State Greys. For information on season tickets, group outings, and nine-game mini packs, visit the Titans’ official website at www.ottawatitans.com.
