Titans Blanked in Rubber Match to End Road Trip

Québec City, QC - For the fourth time this season, the Ottawa Titans (51-43) were held off the board, falling 6-0 to the Québec Capitals (67-28) on Sunday night.

Cleiverth Perez (win, 3-0) looked dominant, going six scoreless innings and allowing just four hits while striking out five.

The Capitales got on the board first in the bottom of the first, as a wild pitch brought home Chavez Young to make it 1-0. They tacked on another run in the second and three more in the fourth to push the lead to 5-0. Young picked up three hits in the first four innings, already just a home run shy of the cycle.

Dominic Puccetti (loss, 5-5) took the loss, going four innings and allowing five runs on six hits, walking four and striking out three.

Yohanse Morel followed with two scoreless innings to keep the Titans within reach, and Michael Vilchez made quick work in the seventh, tossing the night's only one-two-three inning for Ottawa.

The Capitales added on again in the eighth to make it 6-0 off Christian Scafidi. Conner Floyd struck out the side in the ninth to seal it. 

Jake Steels, Rainer Nuñez, Thomas Ferroggiaro, and Mitsuki Fukuda accounted for the Titans' only four hits, as Ottawa went hitless over the final four innings. It marked the third game on the road trip with only four hits. The offence had multiple runners aboard twice in the game, unable to break the zero.

The Titans have either tied or dropped five series in a row and finish August 12-13.

After a day off on Monday, the Ottawa Titans kick off the final homestand of the regular season with the first of a three-game series against the Trois-Rivières Aigles on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Ottawa Stadium. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a 2026 Player Card set, and all fans will be treated to the final $2 Hot Dog night of the season and post-game fireworks. The Titans end the regular season with four games in New Jersey.
