Titans Close Out Home Schedule with Two Wins Over Aigles

Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans (54-43) took both wins in a doubleheader against the Trois-Rivières Aigles (35-64) to close out their regular-season home schedule on Thursday night, finishing off their first home series sweep of the year.

Game One - Ottawa 3, Trois-Rivières 2

The Aigles got the scoring started in the second as Justin Farmer reached on an error, scoring a Taeg Gollert double to make it a 1-0 game.

The Titans got two back in the third to take the lead thanks to veteran Jackie Urbaez. The Miami native sent his tenth homer of the season to right, giving the Titans a 2-1 lead.

Evan Grills (win, 7-2) picked up a team-high seventh win, tossing five solid innings. He allowed one run on five hits and struck out four.

The Titans added a little extra insurance in the fourth as Taylor Wright put one in play, scoring Hunter Stokely and giving the Titans a 3-1 lead.

Ted Stuka held down the fort, tossing a scoreless sixth, allowing one hit and striking out one.

Brett Garcia (save, 15) had a slightly shaky appearance, allowing one run on two hits, but still picked up the save. He now solidifies himself as second all-time in Titans history with his 18th career save.

The former Jays farmhand now sits two saves away from Kevin Escorcia's single-season record of 17 saves.

Noe Toribio (loss, 5-10) took the loss, leaving in the fifth with an injury. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on three hits, three walks, and striking out three.

Despite the win, the Titans' bats stayed relatively quiet. AJ Wright picked up his career-high 24th double of the year; Hunter Stokely, Rainer Nuñez, and Thomas Ferroggiaro each picked up singles, and Jackie Urbaez sent a two-run bomb to right field as the Titans only picked up five hits.

Game Two - Ottawa 3, Trois-Rivières 0

The Titans pitching staff came up big, shutting out the Aigles to close out regular-season home games.

Eric Pardhino (win, 7-4) tossed his fourth shutout appearance of the year, picking up his seventh win and tying Evan Grills for most wins on the Titans this season. He went five innings, allowing just two hits, walking two, and striking out six.

The Titans put up all three runs of the game in the third, powered by a two-run double from Rainer Nuñez. Taylor Wright kicked off the scoring, sending an RBI double to right to score Jackie Urbaez. Nuñez then added the insurance to keep the Titans ahead.

Yohanse Morel tossed a scoreless sixth, striking out two, before Liu Fuenmayor (save, 2) picked up his second save of the season with a clean seventh.

Fawster Voytko (loss, 4-4) took the loss, going three innings and allowing three runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out seven.

Taylor Wright picked up the only multi-hit game of the day for the Titans, going 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Rainer Nuñez picked up a double to score two, while Thomas Ferroggiaro and Caleb Burr each picked up hits.

The Titans end the 2026 regular season with a 30-19 home record. For the third time in five years, the Club has eclipsed at least 30 home wins in a season.

The Ottawa Titans hit the road for the final weekend of the regular season with the first of a three-game series against the New Jersey Jackals on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, New Jersey. Next Wednesday, the Titans will host an opponent TBD in game one of the best-of-three Atlantic Conference Wild Card Playoffs at 7:00 p.m. at Ottawa Stadium.
