Jackie Urbaez de retour en 2024

Ottawa (Ontario) - Les Titans d’Ottawa ont annoncé aujourd’hui s’être entendus avec le joueur d’utilité Jackie Urbaez pour la saison 2024.


Urbaez, 26 ans, rejoint les Titans pour une troisième année et sa cinquième campagne professionnelle en 2024. Limité à 68 matchs la saison dernière, Urbaez a frappé .266 avec cinq coups de circuit et 28 points produits. Le joueur d’utilité de 5 pieds 9 pouces est entré dans l'histoire des Titans en claquant le premier grand chelem de l'histoire de la franchise le 12 mai.

 

Il a maintenu une moyenne au bâton de .287 avec 10 circuits et 48 points produits en 87 matchs. Le 28 juin au 3 juillet, Urbaez a été nommé joueur de la semaine de la Ligue Frontière lorsqu’il a amassé 11 coups sûrs, incluant six circuits et 12 points produits.

 

En 2021 avec les Miners de Sussex, le natif de Miami a frappé .261 avec un circuit et 14 points produits en 58 parties.

 

Repêché par les Brewers de Milwaukee en 2019, Urbaez a maintenu une moyenne de .194 en 57 matchs avec deux circuits et 23 points produits.

 

Diplômé de l'Université Saint Thomas, le joueur de 5 pieds et 9 pouces avait une moyenne de .343 en carrière, frappant 17 coups de circuit et 118 points produits en 125 parties universitaires.


Les Titans vont amorcer leur saison 2024 le 10 mai en visitant la Nouvelle-Angleterre. Le match d’ouverture au Stade d'Ottawa est prévu le mardi 21 mai que les ValleyCats de Tri-City seront les adversaires.
