Titans and Boulders Cancelled, Playoff Magic Number Drops to Three

Davide Disipio • August 28, 2026

Pomona, NY - Thursday’s series finale between the Ottawa Titans and New York Boulders has been cancelled due to power issues affecting the stadium lights.

As the game never got underway, it will not be made up, as the Titans and Boulders do not meet again during the 2026 Frontier League regular season. As a result, Ottawa’s regular-season schedule is now set at 101 games.

The cancellation also moves the Titans one step closer to clinching a playoff spot, with their magic number dropping to three. The magic number only decreased by one Thursday, however, as the Down East Bird Dawgs and Tri-City ValleyCats had their game suspended in the bottom of the third inning with Down East leading 10-3. The two Clubs will play a nine-inning game tomorrow (Friday), followed by resuming tonight's game on Saturday, with a seven-inning game afterwards.

Under Frontier League tiebreaking procedures, playoff positioning is determined first by winning percentage, followed by head-to-head season series results.

The Ottawa Titans continue the road trip with the opener of a three-game series against the Québec Capitales on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at Stade Canac in Québec City, Québec. The Titans are home next week to face Trois-Rivières as part of Fan Appreciation Week before ending the season with four games in New Jersey. All the action can be heard on the Ottawa Titans Radio Network and 94.5 Unique FM, and live-streamed on Frontier League TV powered by HomeTeam Network.
