Sauget, IL - The Ottawa Titans (2-5) surrendered eleven runs in the bottom of the second inning, dropping their fourth straight in a 16-6 loss to the Gateway Grizzlies (5-2) on Friday.

After allowing one run on a wild pitch in the first, the Titans took their first lead of the week with back-to-back homers from Gabe Snyder and Taylor Wright, putting the visitors ahead 2-1.

An AJ Wright double later in the inning made it 3-1 as he cashed in Mitsuki Fukuda. It was the first time the Titans had the advantage in a game since Sunday's victory over Empire State.

The Grizzlies would tally a total of eleven runs off Trevor Clifton (loss, 0-2) and Max Steffens in the second, putting the Titans in a 12-3 hole. Clifton would leave after an inning and two-thirds, allowing ten runs (six earned), on five hits, walking three, and striking out three.

AJ Wright and Peter Zimmerman would exchange solo blasts in the fourth inning before Wright would homer again in the top of the sixth.

Wright would go 3-for-5 with a double, two homers, and four RBI in the loss.

The Ottawa Titans continue their three-game series tomorrow night with the Gateway Grizzlies at 7:45 pm ET at Grizzlies Ballpark.
