Titans Fall Short in Pitchers' Duel

Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans (45-32) were blanked 2-0 in a pitchers' duel against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles (28-50) on Sunday afternoon, managing a season-low two hits.
Ky Hampton (loss, 2-3) got the start and, despite taking the loss, turned in one of his best outings of the year. He tossed six innings, allowing one run on four hits, walking one, while striking out four.
The Aigles pushed across the eventual winning run on a two-out RBI single in the top of the third from Drew Barragan.
Noe Toribio (win, 4-8) carried a perfect game into the seventh before Jackie Urbaez broke it up with a base hit. Toribio went seven innings, allowing one hit, walking one, and striking out seven.
Ted Stuka worked himself into a bases-loaded jam but escaped untouched to keep the game at 1-0 through seven.
Liu Fuenmayor allowed a solo shot off the bat of Taeg Gollert in the eighth, and Brett Garcia tossed a shutout ninth with three strikeouts.
The Aigles' bullpen looked just as sharp, allowing only one hit and a walk. MacCallan Conklin (save, 4) picked up his fourth save of the season, walking one batter.
Having a four-game win streak come to an end, Jackie Urbaez and Hunter Stokeley were the only two Titans to record a hit.
After a day off on Monday, the Ottawa Titans kick off a six-game Midwest Conference road trip with the first of a three-game series against the Windy City ThunderBolts on Tuesday night at 7:35 p.m. ET at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, Illinois. After three games against the ThunderBolts, the Titans visit the Gateway Grizzlies over the weekend. The Titans return home on August 18th for a six-game series against the Mississippi Mud Monsters.
