Brockton, MA - Playing their third doubleheader in three weeks, the Ottawa Titans (41-31) split a twin-bill against the Brockton Rox (33-40) on Tuesday afternoon, winning game one 10-3 and dropping game two by a 7-3 final.

Game One - Ottawa 10, Brockton 3

Down to their last three outs, the Titans' offence erupted for an eight-run top of the seventh inning to storm back and win their fourth game in a row.

Taylor Wright opened up the twin-bill with a solo homer to right on the first pitch of the contest to tie the team lead with homer number 12 on the season.

In the second, a sac fly with the bases loaded from Caleb Burr doubled the lead to 2-0 in the early going.

Dealing through four, Ky Hampton (ND, 2-2) took a no-hitter into the fifth before the Rox connected for three straight one-out hits to tie the game.

Nick Marola's RBI double and a Keagan Calero base hit levelled the score, knocking Hampton out of the game after five solid innings.

In his tenth start of the year, Hampton went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits, walking one, and striking out four.

Heitor Tokar (win, 4-2) served up a go-ahead solo homer to Scott Seeker with one out in the bottom of the sixth, seeing the Rox take a 3-2 lead.

Facing all-star closer Brendan O'Donnell (loss, 3-4), the Titans rallied to load the bases with nobody out. Jackie Urbaez looped in a knock, scored a fielder's choice, to tie it. AJ Wright put the Titans ahead for good with a two-run double down the left-field line. For good measure, Hunter Stokely, Michael Fuhrman, and Burr each drove in runs to put the game out of reach.

Scoring eight times in the seventh, the Titans sent 13 to the plate and tallied five hits.

Taylor Wright went 2-for-4 with a homer and an RBI. Myles Smith and Thomas Ferroggiaro each doubled. Caleb Burr knocked in three runs for a second-straight game.

Game Two - Brockton 7, Ottawa 3

Getting out to a quick start yet again, the Titans allowed a pair of big innings on the pitching side to take the split.

For a second consecutive game, Taylor Wright blasted a leadoff solo homer off Matthew Rivera (win, 2-3) to put the Titans out in front early. Taylor Wright now leads the team with 13 home runs on the year.

After the Rox tied it in the bottom half, the Titans took their last lead of the day with a Hunter Stokely bases-loaded walk in the top of the third.

Dominic Puccetti (loss, 4-4) grinded through the first three frames before the Rox pulled away midway through the contest.

Evan Sleight led off the fourth with a solo homer to tie it, as Keagan Calero and Derek Bender picked up RBI knocks to put the Rox ahead 4-2.

In the fifth, Sleight recorded an RBI double, pushing the lead to 5-2.

The Titans attempted a comeback in the sixth, as Caleb Burr drove in Myles Smith with a sacrifice fly to make it a two-run game.

Puccetti was charged with seven runs over five and a third innings, as the Rox added two for good measure in the sixth. Making his second start back with the Titans and tenth overall, Puccetti allowed 10 hits, walked two, and struck out three.

Austin Gurney and Myles Smith each had two hits in the loss. Taylor Wright homered and also drew a free pass.

The Ottawa Titans continue their road trip with the third of a four-game series against the Brockton Rox on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Massachusetts. After four games to end the season series with Brockton, the Titans head home over the weekend for a series with the Trois-Rivières Aigles.
