Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans (2-2) allowed a combined twelve runs over the first three innings, headlining a 16-3 loss to the Evansville Otters (2-2) to open their six-game road trip on Tuesday.

Ethan Skender's two-run homer in the bottom of the first off Titans starter Chris Burica (loss, 0-1) kicked off the run-fest for the victorious Otters in the series opener. Jacob Olson would make it 3-0 with an RBI double later in the frame.

The Otters would tack on three more in the second and third, knocking Burica out of the game after three innings. In his first start of the season, Burica allowed nine runs on nine hits in three innings of work.

After having one base runner through three, Justin Thompson scored Jackie Urbaez with a two out single off Austin Gossmann (win, 1-0) to put the Titans on the board in the fourth inning. In the bottom half, Nigel Calmes would surrender four more runs as the Otters extended their lead to 13-1.

A Jackie Urbaez RBI double and Jamey Smart sacrifice fly would be all the scoring in the series opener for the Titans. With a 2-for-3 performance, Urbaez is now 10-for-17 with two doubles, a homer, and seven RBI on the young season.

Damon Casetta-Stubbs would work 2 and two-thirds in the late innings, allowing three runs on three hits, while striking out five in his second appearance of the season.

The Ottawa Titans continue their series with the Evansville Otters tomorrow night at 7:35 pm ET at Bosse Field with Zac Westcott taking the mound. All the action can be heard on CKDJ 107.9 and 94,5 UNIK FM and livestreamed on Flo Baseball.
