Titans Rally Late, Break Through in Extras to Beat Rox

Brockton, MA - The Ottawa Titans (43-31) completed a comeback for a 6-2 win over the Brockton Rox (33-42) in extra innings on Thursday night, powered by a Jackie Urbaez three-run home run.

The Titans looked poised to strike first in both the third and fourth innings, putting two runners on with none out each time, but stranded a runner at third on both occasions.

Eric Pardhino (ND, 5-4) dealt through four strong innings, allowing just two hits while striking out five.



The visitors stranded another runner at third in the fifth, as Omar Melendez (ND, 1-1) kept the Titans off the board.

Pardhino's outing ended early when he left with a runner on in the fifth due to lower-body discomfort. He finished with four quality innings, allowing one walk and two hits while striking out five.

The Rox struck first after Yohanse Morel worked himself into a jam, allowing two runs to score on a wild pitch and a passed ball.

With two on in the seventh, Caleb Burr put one in play and reached on an infield single, as a run scored on a wild throw to first, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

Taylor Wright drew a leadoff walk in the eighth, and Jake Steels tied the game with a double to left, making it 2-2.

Ted Stuka sent the game to extra innings, retiring the side in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Taylor Wright started the tenth on second base and stole third. Jake Steels reached first on a dropped third strike, and with runners on the corners, AJ Wright was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Myles Smith delivered a go-ahead sacrifice fly to center, giving the Titans their first lead of the game at 3-2.

Jackie Urbaez followed with a three-run homer to right, extending the lead to 6-2 for his eighth home run of the season.

Brett Garcia closed out the game, allowing one hit and striking out three.

Jack Kalisky and Heitor Tokar each tossed scoreless innings in relief, and Ted Stuka (win, 4-0) picked up the victory after working the ninth.

Trevor Anibal (loss, 1-1) took the loss, allowing four runs on a hit and two walks while striking out five.

Jake Steels went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Thomas Ferroggiaro picked up a pair of singles. Myles Smith sent the go-ahead sacrifice fly, his 50th RBI of the season, and Jackie Urbaez capped it off with a three-run long ball.

The Titans wrap up the season series over the Rox, taking 10 of 12 games.
